Monarch Sunrise

I created this full-room mural for the Children’s Room at the former Monarch Justice Center, a space where kids waited or received observation care while their families accessed services. The director asked me to design something that would soothe, welcome, and gently engage children during what was often a very difficult time. After completing the design, I worked alongside members of the Napa Sunrise Rotary Club and local community volunteers to paint the mural using a collaborative “paint-by-number” process. Although the mural is no longer at that site, it included over 45 hidden native species—offering a joyful and healing connection to nature during its time in the space.
