These watercolor sketches are part of my ongoing exploration of native plants and animals—often painted from life or from field photos I’ve taken. Some began as studies for larger public art projects, while others were created simply to observe and celebrate the beauty of a bee on a blossom, a frog in a palm frond, or a chipmunk with its winter stash. I aim to capture both the small details and the sense of place that make these species so rooted in their habitats.
