These loose watercolor sketches were created as part of my exploration of Napa County’s native plants and wildlife. Each piece captures the character and movement of its subject — from the shimmer of a honeybee’s wings to the delicate balance of a tree frog among palm fronds. Originally painted as preparatory studies for a public art commission, they also stand alone as small, intimate portraits of the natural world.
