This public art bench at Fire Station #41 in West Sacramento features hand-carved ceramic tiles created in partnership with artist Sam Tubiolo and local residents. The mosaic depicts nostalgic and contemporary West Sacramento imagery—including the historic firetruck “Old Mary,” local firefighters, and the beloved West Sac firefighting goats. Cover 100 community members participates in a free public workshop to design and hand-build tiles for the final piece. The project celebrates local identity and builds community ownership through collaborative art-making.
